I guess no one uses there blog anymore.

I would like to try to read more than I did last year (witch was one book every two weeks).

Esperanza Rising

         In the story I was reading Esperanza Rising and it feels as though I am in  the story considering its vivid images and precise details. So it was hard to pick one scene but I finally came to my decision.  "The guavas smelled fresh and sweet, like pears and oranges all in one." I picked this passage because I love the smell of guavas and I could really smell it at that moment when I was reading that sentence.

Little House in The Big Woods(reading log)

        Little House in The Big Woods is one of my favorite books and Laura or Laura Ingalls Wilder is one of my favorite characters. These are some of the character traits of Laura: shy, timid, easily scared, little, strong, outgoing and full of energy. This character Laura seem's very real to me because she is just like any other kid. I like this character because she is very thoroughly described and Laura Ingalls Wilder(author) made you really care about her. I might change her age like maybe start the story from when she was born and then have a couple years pass by. This character Laura was very important to the story because she is the main character.

        The book that I'm writing connections with is,"Katie Kazoo Switcheroo". It is about the changes with classes in the beginning of a new grade and new class mates. Also there's the whole freak out if your in your friends class or not and if you have a teacher thats new to the school.   Something that I experienced is that I was not in the same class as my friends.  Because I was in a 4th and 5th grade blend, most of my friends where in other classrooms.  This is the same situation that Katie experienced.  I was feeling connected and understood her feelings.
